About the Role

As a dual-scope MRI Medical Imaging Technologist, you will routinely support a second modality performing scans and X-rays for patients while ensuring high-quality patient care.

This is a 0.8FTE position (64 hours per fortnight) with participation in a 24/7 rotating shift roster from Monday to Sunday.  You will work across both MRI and another modality, with team support ensuring no one works alone at any time. As the MRI department continues to grow, there may be opportunities to participate in an on-call service..

About the Team/Service

Our Radiology department features a 1.5T Siemens Sola scanner, supporting a mix of acute, in and out-patient cases, including cardiac imaging.

As a valued member of our radiology team, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional patient care and ensuring diagnostic accuracy.  You will have the opportunity to work with modern equipment in a collaborative and supportive team environment. 

As a district hospital, our team provides a comprehensive diagnostic radiology service across multiple modalities including:, MRI, General Radiography CT Scanning,  Cardiac Catheterisation, Angiography and Ultrasound. The workload is varied, challenging and interesting. Share your knowledge by supporting and mentoring MRI trainees and Medical Imaging students.

About you

As a Dual Scope MRI Medical Imaging Technologist , you will have or be:

  • NZ registered with the NZMRT Board, and hold a current APC in dual scope of Medical Imaging Technologist and Magnetic Resonance Technologist,
  • a positive and friendly team player with great sense of humour,
  • a sound knowledge of MRI and diagnostic radiography,
  • great communication skills and empathy,
  • the passion to deliver high-quality healthcare,
  • flexibility to work within a Monday-Sunday rotating roster. 

Experience with a Siemens Sola MRI is an advantage but not essential.

The successful candidate must be eligible to work in New Zealand or hold a valid NZ work visa at the time of applying.
