The Opportunity
Progress your training as an advanced trainee in Medical Oncology Registrar?
MidCentral District is accredited for 24 months of advanced training for Medical Oncology.
MidCentral District provides a regional tertiary Cancer Treatment Service providing Medical Oncology, Haematology and Radiation Oncology to the populations of the following districts within Te Whatu Ora| Health New Zealand: Taranaki, Whanganui, Hawkes Bay and MidCentral.
Outpatient clinics form a large part of this role. As one of three advanced trainees you will participate in local clinics and share attendance at regional clinics. In addition, support to the inpatients is provided in conjunction with Medical Oncologists a Medical Registrar and House Officer.
The weekday on call roster is 1600 – 2300. Weekends are 0800 – 2300.
Call frequency is 1 in 11!

About you
Our ideal candidate will have:
- Registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand or be eligible for general or provisional general registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand. You can check your eligibility for registration by visiting the Council's website at www.mcnz.org.nz.
- Completed RACP Basic Training, including the written and clinical examinations.
