Job Description

Enterprise Recruitment is working alongside leaders in the building service industry in New Zealand. Due to the continual growth in this market, our client - a New Zealand owned and operated building service maintenance provider - is looking for 3 Metal Fabricators/Welders to join their growing team.
 
Successful candidates must be willing to travel between Hawkes Bay,  Manawatu-Whanganui and Wellington, depending on the client's needs.

Accommodation and relocation costs will be covered by the client for the first two weeks of assignment.

You will be offered:
  • Permanent employment in line with NZ employment law, with a competitive remuneration package to match your experience ($30-$35 per hour)
  • 30-hour work week guaranteed. Monday to Friday 8am-5pm.

To be successful for this role, you need to have the following skills and 3 years’ verifiable work experience:
  • Perform arc & mig mild steel welding in a workshop environment
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and dimensions
  • Work off site to install heavy and mild Steel
  • Fabricate and repair metal products using a variety of welding techniques
  • Create a variety of mild steel products in vertical ups, horizontal and overhead styles of welding
In addition to the above, the right candidate must be able to perform the following tasks:
  • Studying blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine job requirements
  • Selecting, cleaning and preparing metal stock
  • Cutting marked-out metal sections and shapes using hand tools, flame cutting torches and metal cutting machines
  • Shaping and bending metal sections and pipes using hand and machine tools, and by heating and hammering
  • Aligning parts to be joined using hand tools and measuring instruments
  • Joining metal sections using various welding techniques, bolting and riveting
  • Examining welds for width of bead, penetration and precision
  • Finishing products by cleaning, polishing, filing and bathing in acidic solutions
  • Cleaning and smoothing welds by filing, chiselling and grinding
