Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
MRI/General MIT 1.0 FTE- Fixed term
Te Whatu Ora Taranaki is seeking the services of an MRI/General MIT to work in our department at Taranaki Base Hospital. You would be working as part of a dynamic team. Our radiology team prides itself on being friendly and supportive and works with the people of our community to promote, encourage, and enable their health, well-being and independence. This role is best suited to a person who values teamwork, respects individual needs and is motivated by excellent clinical outcomes.
· This position is in our MRI/general department with participation on our on-call roster (includes weekends/shifts/call). You must always be capable of working in a solo capacity and have the confidence to interact with a range of medical staff afterhours with the ability to make sound clinical decisions.
· We are looking for an applicant who is flexible, a good team player, and with a positive personality. You must be able to handle pressure and make sound decisions in difficult situations. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills are important.

· We are looking forward to moving into a new build in 2025.
· Our New Plymouth department includes a 1.5 Siemens Altea, 3 general x-ray rooms, Emergency department, angio/interventional suite, nuclear medicine, CT, ultrasound. We have 3 satellite sites: Hawera, Stratford, Waitara.

Moū - About you
We are looking for an applicant with excellent communication skills, a high standard of patient care, enthusiasm, and the ability to work efficiently in our busy department in our team. You must have a passion for general radiology.
You will have:
NZ registration and a current annual practising certificate.
Excellent technical skills and knowledge.
Well-developed communication, critical thinking skills and a commitment to family centred care.
Be capable of working independently and within a small team.
A strong commitment to quality healthcare.
You will also be versatile and able to adapt to a constantly changing environment.
You must be able to work well within a close team and be willing to take part in training students.
