Mō te tūnga - About the Role

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced senior Registered Nurse with an interest and specialist knowledge in endoscopy to join the small NEQIP Team as our Nurse Lead to help deliver and support the National Endoscopy Quality Improvement Programme (NEQIP) across Health NZ Districts.

The national Nurse Lead is a key member of the NEQIP team, acting as a subject matter expert and delivering senior nursing leadership to ensure the delivery of strategic programme objectives.

We are looking for someone who is committed and passionate to succeed in this role and who as a positive role model will work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team across the National Screening Unit (NSU), National Bowel Screening Programme (NBSP) and the Endoscopy Guidance Group for New Zealand (EGGNZ).

Furthermore, you will work closely with public sector facilities across New Zealand to support patient centred endoscopy quality and service improvement using the New Zealand Global Rating Scale (NZGRS) national framework of quality standards.

The core team are based in Canterbury, however flexible remote working, with travel to the office when required, can be supported. Appointment on a secondment basis may also be possible.

To be successful in this role, you will have expert nursing knowledge with extensive clinical experience, preferably in the specialist of Endoscopy or a related field. Your personal skills will include being self-motivated and reliable with working independently and must have the ability to work collaboratively within a multi-faceted team on a national level. You will be able to prioritise your workloads daily.

Essential for this role,

  • Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand
  • Holds a current Nursing Council of New Zealand practising certificate 
  • At least five years working either within the relevant clinical speciality or relevant senior nursing role
  • Experience and skill in senior nursing leadership and/or service management
  • Expert knowledge of endoscopy nursing or a related field
  • Experience in education and training
  • Experience of managing change/service improvement
  • High level computer literacy
