The Intelligence Community Shared Services (ICSS) support the Government Communications Security Bureau (GCSB) | Te Tira Tiaki and the New Zealand Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) | Te Pā Whakamarumaru in the achievement of individual and joint agency strategic and operational outcomes.

We have an exciting opportunity for someone to take a leadership role in the management of the property estate for GCSB and NZSIS.

You will bring your leadership and strategic thinking skills to the planning and life cycle management to ensure that we have buildings and work environments that are fit for purpose, safe and secure.

We are looking for someone with a breadth of experience in property management to lead a team of property professionals working in some of NZ Governments most sensitive sites. You will be working with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders ensuring sound and informed decisions are made on the delivery of property services across multiple sites.

You will be able to show the following attributes:

  • Understanding and experience of the commercial property environment and managing its legal and financial risks.
  • Experience in leading and supporting property projects.
  • Able to build strong business and strategic relationships.
  • Experience in property strategy development and delivery linking back to guiding the property work programme.
  • Understanding the management of government property and assets in a highly classified and secure work environment.
  • Able to lead and influence others in improving systems and processes.
  • Recognised skills in leading and motivating staff.

Before you apply

Working within our unique environment means we have to ensure you're eligible for employment.

You must:

  • Have been a New Zealand Citizen for at least 10 years

OR

Hold a current NZ Residency Class Visa and ideally have been a citizen of the UK, USA, Canada or Australia for at least 10 years

  • Be eligible to obtain a Top Secret Special (TSS) security clearance
    • Ordinarily, this means you'll have a 15 year checkable background in countries NZSIS Vetting can make meaningful and reliable checks.
