Neurology at Waikato Hospital has a great opportunity for someone who is motivated and dynamic and are looking to join a supportive and enthusiastic team.

You will be part of a dedicated team of Neurologists, Registrars, Clinical Nurse Specialist, Allied Health and Administrative Staff.

About the Team/Service

We provide both secondary and tertiary level inpatient, day-patient, outpatient and neurophysiology services to both local and regional populations with close links to the regional Neurosurgery Unit based at Waikato Hospital.

The appointee will be involved in teaching, continuing medical education and quality improvement. There is emphasis on ongoing development of services to meet the needs of our patients. A commitment to customer focus, service development and teamwork are essential.

Waikato Hospital is a major regional hospital in Hamilton and is a leading tertiary teaching hospital located in Hamilton, New Zealand, serving as the regional hub for the Midland area, which includes the Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Lakes, Tairawhiti, and Taranaki districts. With around 722 inpatient beds, 22 operating theatres, and a dedicated outpatient clinic and procedure centre, Waikato Hospital provides comprehensive hospital services, including radiology, laboratory, and pharmacy. About you

Required skills & experience you will need to be consider for this role:

  • Advanced training in Neurology and be eligible for vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand
  • Knowledge and understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi

Fellowship training in EMG/NCS or equivalent and clinical expertise in Botox treatment would be advantage.
