Salary:  $77,087 - $110,210

Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Occupational Therapist, either with experience, or looking to further develop skills and knowledge in a hospital based, inpatient setting. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic and motivated, a team player and willing to have a flexible and adaptable approach to work.

This role is part of the inpatient occupational therapy team. Based primarily on the older persons and rehabilitation inpatient ward (OPRS). It is the opportunity to be part of a great team of occupational therapists and to work closely with the wider multidisciplinary team.

If you enjoy variety, have excellent clinical skills and the ability to work effectively and collaboratively as part of a team, then this may be the position for you.

This is a permanent, full time position, 40 hours per week.

Mō tō mātou rōpū - About our team

The Occupational Therapy Department at Hutt Hospital provides occupational therapy services to patients/clients within the hospital setting. Services are provided on all of the inpatient wards including Medical Assessment and Planning Unit (MAPU) and Emergency Department (ED). 

Moū - About you

  • Registration with the NZ Occupational Therapy Board
  • Current Annual Practicing Certificate
  • Clinical experience in a hospital setting
  • Knowledge and experience of providing rehabilitation to people following a neurological event including rehabilitation of upper limb, visual, cognitive and functional deficits.
  • Knowledge of wheelchair and seating provision is desirable 
  • The ability to work well as part of a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
