Contract: This is a permanent, full time position, 40 hours per week however there is an opportunity to consider alternative hours. Please state on cover letter

Salary: MECA Step 1-8 ($77,087 - $110,210)

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Occupational Therapist, either with experience, or looking to further develop skills and knowledge in a hospital based, inpatient setting. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic and motivated, a team player and willing to have a flexible and adaptable approach to work.

This role is part of the inpatient occupational therapy team. This role will focus on early assessment and identification of how Occupational Therapy can contribute to ensuring safe discharges through assessment of occupational performance with the aim of reducing hospital readmissions. It is the opportunity to be part of a great team of occupational therapists and to work closely with the wider multidisciplinary team.

About the Team/Service/Location

The Occupational Therapy Department at Hutt Hospital provides occupational therapy services to patients/clients within the hospital setting. Services are provided on all of the inpatient wards including Medical Assessment and Planning Unit (MAPU), Emergency Department (ED), Medical, Orthopaedic and Surgical wards.

About you

We are looking for someone with a minimum of 2 years experience and the following:

  • Registration with the NZ Occupational Therapy Board
  • Current Annual Practicing Certificate
  • Clinical experience in a hospital setting
  • The ability to work well as part of a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
