About the Service
We are a specialist Kaupapa Māori service for Maori between the ages of 18 to 65 years, who are experiencing symptoms suggestive of psychosis or schizophrenia. We are culturally and clinically responsive to the needs of Whaiora and their Whānau through the stages of their journey.
About the Role
We are seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our multi-disciplinary team based in Whangarei. The role provides a high quality and effective occupational therapy service which supports rehabilitation and recovery for inpatients, outpatients and community clients, promoting independence, safety, self-determination, individual and family wellbeing.
About you
Preferred applicants will:
- Have an interest in working in the mental health and addiction sector
- Be registered with the Occupational Therapy Board of New Zealand, with a current practising certificate
- Hold a current NZ driver's licence
- Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
- Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
