About the Team/Service/ Location

Working in partnership with whaiora, whānau, and the wider multidisciplinary team, you will provide high quality, person-centred inpatient occupational therapy. You will bring creative solutions to a complex caseload of acute strokes, frail elderly, and general medical patients. You will support and guide rotational occupational therapists and students, and be actively involved in ongoing quality improvement initiatives within the ward and wider.

About you

We are looking for an Occupational Therapist with a passion for sharing your knowledge and skills. You will be part of a diverse and supportive wider team of acute and subacute occupational therapists. We value continued professional development, mentoring, supervision and on-going training. You will have access to regular in-service training, special interest working groups, and learning opportunities to develop your clinical and leadership skills. 

 

We also have an Occupational Therapy Professional Lead to support your growth and promote the occupational therapy service throughout our hospital.

Y

ou will also need the following key attributes and skills:

  • Bachelor of Occupational Therapy, or equivalent.
  • New Zealand Registered Occupational Therapist with current annual practising certificate (APC).
  • 2+ years clinical experience - preferably some time in stroke care, but not essential.
