  • Permanent, up to full-time (1.0 FTE), 40 hours per week

Mō te tūranga - About the team

The Adult Intensive Care Mental health Inpatient Unit provides care within a 15 bedded admission unit. You'll join an expert multi-disciplinary clinical team who provide input to consumers who require comprehensive assessment and/or treatment. The majority of consumers present with serious acute/ complex mental health issues.

Mōu ake - About you

The role as 9B Occupational therapist requires you to work collaboratively with all the health professionals as well as wider multidisciplinary team throughout Southern in a way that is consistent with the organisation's vision and values. This includes interprofessional practice where multiple health workers from different backgrounds work together with patients, families, care givers, and communities to deliver the highest quality of care .

This role may involve morning, afternoon and evening hours. Working hours are negotiable. It is expected that you will provide a discipline specific perspective through the facilitation and delivery of the occupational therapy process, including assessments, treatment planning and interventions for consumers admitted to the unit. This takes place in both group and individual settings. You will also work alongside another occupational therapist to provide occupational therapy input to inpatient consumers. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced occupational therapist to consolidate and further build their skills while enjoying all the opportunities Otago has to offer.

Utu whānui - Salary range

This role belongs to the Allied, Public Health, Scientific, and Technical Multi-Employer Collective Agreement and falls between Step 1 ($77,087 p.a) and Step 8 ($110,210 p.a).
