  • $79,656 - $100,639 pro-rata

He angitūtanga | About the role

Keen to contribute towards conservation outcomes with a meaningful organisation? Join DOC Te Papa Atawhai as our next OIA Advisor.

As OIA Advisor, you'll work closely with your OIA colleagues to provide advice and trouble-shoot on matters that are particularly sensitive or complex. You can expect to work with senior staff and be confident identifying risk and providing strategic advice. The team works at pace and is an extremely responsive, deadline driven environment, working collaboratively to draw on the strengths of all team members.

The position will be focused on:

  • Providing consistent and accurate OIA advice across the organisation.
  • Working closely alongside our Legal and Media teams, and other stakeholders.

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience

We are looking for a proactive and committed individual who is confident giving advice across the organisation on OIA and associated matters. 

If you have some of following, we are keen to hear from you:

  • At least 2+ years' experience in an OIA or Ministerial environment
  • Have strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Strong attention to detail, and risk-mitigation
  • Experience of using a workflow management tool
  • Effective and persuasive communicator both written and oral
  • Strong team player

 

Mō te tīma | About the team

The OIA Team forms part of the wider Governance and Government Services Team. The OIA team develop and own systems to support all of DOC with managing OIAs and ensuring appropriate engagement around information releases across DOC and with external parties, including the Minister.

The team is a diverse team, and we keep the team spirit and connection alive through real-time, daily stand ups to ensure we're all working collectively to achieve great work.

The salary range for this position is $79,656 - $100,639 pro-rata with the starting salary of the successful applicant being based on their relevant skills and experience.

Eligibility to work in New Zealand is mandatory – this includes holding a valid work visa that covers the whole period of employment.
