The Adult Community Referral Centre (ACRC) is a clinically-focussed team who are pivotal to co-ordinating essential services for our community. We are often the first port of call for older adults who experience mental health challenges and we pride ourselves on providing advice and assisting people to navigate within the often complex health system. This role is based at The Princess Margaret Hospital and is predominantly phone/computer -based. You will be involved in clinical triage and processing of client contacts, acute and crisis calls and clinical risk assessments. This role will also find you managing Mental Health Act assessments and the duty roster with the option to rotate through the Older Person - s Mental Health (OPMH) community team. We triage all referrals to our community OPMH team to ensure we find the service that best meet our clients - needs, while also using our comprehensive knowledge of both internal and external services and processes to act as a resource for other health providers.

No two days are the same in this position with lots of problem solving and thinking on your feet, where you - ll be able to use your expert clinical knowledge to make a difference.
- 1x permanent part-time (0.7 FTE) position
- 28 hours per week
- Monday - Friday 8:00 - 16:30

To be successful in this role you will be a Registered Mental Health Professional (Nurse or Allied Health) with a current APC and scope to practice in Mental Health. You will be highly skilled and knowledgeable clinically to provide sound advice to both external providers and consumers directly. Additionally, you will be a multi-tasking whizz as you - ll be juggling multiple plates at once whilst you solve complex problems with the interdisciplinary team and thus will be a great communicator and manage stress well.
Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience
- Experience as a registered nurse or allied health professional
- Hold a valid annual practising certificate with your relevant professional body with scope to practice in Mental Health or Mental Health experience
- Be a confident practitioner with good clinical assessment skills
- Possess excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage a wide variety of people
- The ability to think on your feet, problem solve, and be an adaptive learner.
