About the Role
Due to retirement an exciting front line Waikato District wide Operations Manager position is available. This position supports clinical frontline clinical delivery. Most services within this portfolio provides 24/7 services across multiple sites within Waikato District.
The key functions of this role are:
- Provide operational leadership and accountable for all aspect of Attendants, Security, Parking and Fleet Services
- Support clinical services to deliver patient centred and most optimal clinical outcomes
- Support and assist Clinical Services meeting Health targets
- Deliver the most effective and efficient services within the allocated budget
- Represent Clinical and Operations directorate and engage positively with the service users
- Subject matter advisor and updated intelligence for matters relating the Attendants, Security, Parking or Fleet.
- Be an effective team player with the directorate and for Te Whatu’s teams of teams.
About the Service
The position reports to the Operational Director, and is a key member of the Operational and Clinical Support directorate. Operational and Clinical Support Services provides district wide clinical and operational support to services within Te Whatu Ora – Waikato District.
The Attendant, Parking, Security and Fleet Management services are 24/7 frontline services and key support services for clinical delivery and patient care. There are 3 team leaders and support staff reporting to this position and indirect report of 130 attendants and 4 attendant coordinators, 5 security coordinators and and 60 contracted security and parking staff plus 3 fleet administration staff managing up to 560 fleet vehicles across the district.
About you
To be successful in this challenging and complex role you need the following:
- Honed interpersonal and networking skills
- Can do attitude and act like a business owner
- Good sense of humour, attention to details but not sweat the small stuff
- Highly organised and unafraid to challenge status quo
Experience and skills:
- 5 to 7 years’ experience in operational and strategic leadership in a complex organisation, preferably in the Healthcare sector.
- Extensive experience in building and sustaining collaborative working relationships in a high pressure environment to enable effective change management.
- Demonstrated ability and experience in leading change management.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, including the capacity to negotiate, resolve conflict and positively influence and motivate others
- Experience of leading multi-disciplinary teams
- Experience in managing projects across complex stakeholder groups
- Be proficient at monthly and incident report writing
- Experience in Security Services management
- Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
- Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings
