About the Role

The successful candidate will work in a team of Ophthalmologists, registrars, an orthoptist and a specialist ophthalmic nurse in the outpatient clinic and operating theatre. We run optometrist and nurse led glaucoma clinics, registrar led minor procedures clinics and have nurse injectors for avastin clinics.

 

This secondary level, 400 bed accredited public hospital provides acute and elective care for our region of over 162,000 people.

About you

  • The successful applicant will have a range of experience in general ophthalmology with subspecialty training in Oculoplastic or Vitreoretinal surgery being an advantage
  • The successful applicant will possess either FRANZCO or an equivalent qualification that would lead to specialist recognition and have an ongoing commitment to providing a high-class service to the community
  • Applicants must be registered, or eligible for vocational registration, with the New Zealand Medical Council as a Specialist Ophthalmologist
