About the Role
The Community Oral Health Service is seeking a motivated and passionate Dental Therapist or Oral Health Therapist to join our fun and friendly Community Oral Health Service team, based in Rotorua. This position is a fixed term 12month position to cover parental leave from January to December 2025.
This position requires a registered Oral Health Therapist or Dental Therapist with sound clinical, administration and communication skills as well as a strong team commitment. We provide a supportive team environment, clinical peer support, on-going professional development and a fun friendly environment.
- Provide professional oral health care to tamariki and whanau
- Provide dental health education across different age groups
- Work with communities’ groups to improve oral health wellbeing for tamariki
- Work within a dynamic team
- Full time and 12 month fixed term

About you
- Bachelor of Oral Health or equivalent
- Registration with the Dental Council of New Zealand
- Excellent sterilisation & infection control
- Empathy and compassion when working tamariki and whanau
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Have a helpful, flexible, positive, and adaptable disposition
- Thrive in a busy and client-focused team
- Experience working with diverse groups of all ages and stages
- Demonstrates a commitment uphold Māori values and culture
Salary range
$77,087 to $107,600 pro-rated to hours worked
