About the opportunity:
A reputable local supplier of premium gourmet fresh meats and handcrafted small goods is seeking a dynamic Packaging & Distribution Team Leader. This is an exciting opportunity to join a company known for producing the finest quality products using traditional methods. The role involves leading the packaging and distribution team to ensure the efficient and safe delivery of products.
Role description:
The Packaging & Distribution Team Leader will oversee the packaging, dispatch, and administrative operations, ensuring high standards of product quality and workplace safety. With a mix of casual and permanent staff of up to 6 people. On average there will be 45 hours per week between 5am and 4pm monday to friday with some half days on saturdays in the busy season pre christmas
Responsibilities will include:
Leading casual staff and coordinate team members to ensure workflow efficiency
Slicing and packaging products as per specifications
Processing orders for dispatch and updating the sales team on product availability
Processing invoicing, accounts and administration requirements
Updating the Production Admin Manager on workflow priorities
Leading health and safety practices, ensuring adherence to food safety policies
Attending and contributing to company meetings
This role will suit someone with all or some of the following background/experience/qualities:
Experience in packaging and distribution within the food industry but those outside of the industry should still apply
Strong leadership and team coordination skills
Knowledge of health and safety practices in a food production environment
Excellent organisational and administrative abilities
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively
