Location - Burwood Hospital, Burwood, Christchurch
Salary - Starting from $23.75 per hour, Based on the Etū Multi-Employer Collective Agreement.
Shift 1: (29 hours per week)
- Sunday 5 Hours 7am to 12pm
- Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 8 hours 6.30am to 3pm
Shift 2: (21 hours per week)
- Thursday and Friday 6.30am to 3pm 8 hours
- Saturday 7am to 12pm 5 Hours

Mō te tūnga - About the Role
Are you looking to contribute to the community in a meaningful way?
Join our dedicated and hard-working Environmental Services Department and help maintain our facilities, while providing a suitable environment for our tūroro (patients) and whānau (families).
You will be part of a small fast paced team that plays an essential part of maintaining Burwood Hospital. The team provides exceptional cleaning services 365 days a year, across both day and night shifts.
You will be responsible for:
- Completing all cleaning tasks to international healthcare standards
- Ensuring daily schedules and tasks are completed within set timeframes
- Operating and maintaining equipment safely around patients and whānau
- Handling cleaning solutions in accordance with safety protocols
Full training will be provided to all new staff joining our team.

We are looking for a reliable, hardworking and flexible candidate who can bring their passion for cleaning to our Burwood facility. This role will suit a candidate that is looking to help make the Hospital and hygienic and safe space for our patients and whanau.
- Excellent communication skills, customer service and time management skills
- High level of patient confidentiality
- Ability to work independently and be self-motivated
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Experience as a cleaner, particularly within health, is preferred but not essential.
