About the Role
As a Payroll Administrator, you will be providing a timely and efficient, high-quality payroll service to employees of Health New Zealand, Waikato. This is an exciting, wide-ranging role in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, where you'll be responsible for a variety of tasks within the Payroll Team.
You’ll have the chance to demonstrate your skills in analysis, time and task management, as well as your attention to detail and accuracy.
The salary for this position will be based on experience and in line with the PSA National Health Administration Workers Collective Agreement. Additional benefits include kiwisaver contributions (if eligible), professional development and wellness support.

Waikato Hospital is a major regional hospital in Hamilton and is a leading tertiary teaching hospital located in Hamilton, New Zealand, serving as the regional hub for the Midland area, which includes the Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Lakes, Tairawhiti, and Taranaki districts. About you
As a Payroll Administrator, you will have:
- NCEA level 3 or relevant work experience
- At least 1 years’ experience in working with electronic payroll systems and processes, preferably in a large organisation (1000+ employees).
- An understanding of human resource and payroll related legislation as it applies to the Health Service.
- An understanding of collective and individual employment contracts
- Ability to undertake shift work if and when needed
- A high level of computer skills and use of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word
- PeopleSoft and OneStaff experience is advantageous
