He angitūtanga | About the role

This is a newly created role reporting to the Chief People Officer and is responsible for managing and optimising our payroll and HRIS systems to support a great people experience lifecycle. You will be responsible for managing the integration of any new or updated systems, ensuring that payroll operations remain effective throughout these changes. Additionally, you will be accountable for overseeing the Payroll and HRIS systems after the new systems have been implemented; ensure compliance with relevant legislation, and drive improvements in our HR technology infrastructure.

You will guide and inspire your team, creating a collaborative and supportive culture. You'll establish clear goals, develop skills, and continuously motivate the team to focus on people-centred, efficient, and streamlined processes. You will utilise your excellent people skills to proactively lead stakeholder relationships; collaborate with IT and external vendors to ensure HR systems are integrated and functioning optimally.

To be successful, you'll bring the following skills and experience:

  • Experience in leading and managing payroll and HR systems development and operations.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Business Administration, Accounting, Human Resources or equivalent related knowledge.
  • Deep understanding of payroll legislation and processes, along with comprehensive knowledge HRIS systems, functions, and processes.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and experience with troubleshooting technical issues.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to challenge existing processes and drive technological innovation.
  • Proven leadership skills to develop and motivate a team.

The salary range for this position is $113,712 - $161,659 with the starting salary of the successful applicant being based on their relevant skills and experience.
