About the role | Mō te tūnga

As the People Advisor you will work alongside senior team members to provide operational advice and support to leaders on people matters so that they can be successful, deliver an exceptional people experience and build a thriving community.

You will support the operational delivery of people related processes and initiatives across HUD, including remuneration and payroll, performance, learning and capability development, change management, employment relations, health and wellbeing, and organisation development.

As a champion for our Aho People System, you will build your expertise and knowledge of the system and supporting processes to provide support and advice to our team and customers. You will also contribute to the continuous improvement of our people systems, enhancing the experiemce for our customers and ensuring we are getting the most out of our systems, including the use of AI tools.

Other aspects of the role include; generating and maintaining employment documentation and records; preparing and coordinating people reporting; payroll support; and assisting in the development and maintenance of our people policies, guidelines and information.

The People Advisor is part of the People Team which sits within the wider People and Community group, reporting to the Manager, People Services.

This role has a salary range of $73,946 - $90,378 + 3% Kiwisaver contribution

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • Experience working in a HR Advisor or similar role.
  • Good knowledge of HR practices, processes and relevant legislation
  • Willingness to learn and can-do attitude
  • Sound technology and information management skills
  • Ability to work through people issues in a logical and systematic way
  • Ability to recognise and balance the needs of our people and the organisation
  • Confident relationship management skills with the ability to quickly build trust and maintain positive effective and collaborative relationships
  • Discretion and the ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Customer advocacy with proven ability providing high levels of service in a proactive way
  • Ability to juggle and prioritise competing deadlines
