People Hub Coordinator
Role type: Permanent, full time
Location: Wellington City
Salary band G: $66,331 - $88,193 depending on skills and experience
Kōrero mō te Tūranga - About the Role
Do you have a keen interest expanding your knowledge on everything HR?
Do you love building interpersonal relationships and have a motivation for providing the best help possible? You might even like process improvement?
Day to day you will be the first port of call for anything HR related, completing documentation, responding to enquiries, and escalating matters where appropriate, this will require a lot of problem solving, initiative, attention to detail and collaboration.
You will play an integral part of maintaining trust in MPI's People Hub Service within the People Operations Directorate.
We cover everything from employment documentation, contractual agreement entitlements, leave entitlements, system support, people policies, procedures and guidelines, payroll advice, onboarding, offboarding and assisting with flexible working requests, long service recognition and appointments across MPI.
There are always opportunities to be involved in projects and activities across People and Capability and even across MPI.
Mōu - About You
You may be wanting to start you career in the public sector, you may be already working in a busy administration or coordination role with generalist HR experience or exposure?
As well as being efficient, proactive, and motivated to make positive impacts with everyone you meet, you will:
Demonstrate customer focus, with the ability to adapt to the needs of a diverse customer base
- Be adept at problem solving and have the ability to learn quickly
- Have excellent planning and organising skills, including the ability to use a wide range of resources and collate information in a timely manner
- Have a keen eye for detail
- Enjoy working as part of, and actively contributing to, a tight-knit team.

Currently a team of 8, largely based in Wellington City, comprising 4 People Hub Coordinators (1 Auckland based), 3 People Hub Advisers and a Team Leader. We work closely as a team unit, collaborating daily, and we are fortunate to be at the heart of our People and Capability Directorate, building strong relationships and connections across the wider team and all parts of the Ministry.
