Based at Whanganui Prison and reporting to the General Manager, this position is critical to the success of our Whanganui Prison senior leadership team providing high quality administrative support in a very busy operational environment!
We are looking for an experienced candidate who has a mature approach to work and life, is a good problem solver and can handle whatever comes their way. No day is ever the same. With a keen eye for detail, you will be instrumental in supporting our General Manager and their business unit, acting as a key point of contact for internal and external customers, juggling a multiple of priorities and continuously seeking out ways of streamlining tasks.
Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience
Possessing exceptional communication and proven organisational skills, your duties and responsibilities will be varied including:
- Co-ordination and organisation of meetings and other events on behalf of the Whanganui team
- Travel and expenses coordination
- Diary Management for our General Manager
- Reporting, presentations and management of general correspondence
- Maintaining and updating records, systems and files
- Developing office systems and processes to ensure efficiencies and to meet legal obligations.
- You will be proactive in nature, quick to identify, address and resolve the needs of your customers. You will demonstrate competency in the MS suite of applications, be meticulous in the recording and maintaining of information, delivering a high level of service to our team.
- Applicants for this role must be a New Zealand citizen, New Zealand Resident Permit holder, Australian citizen or an Australian resident who holds a current Australian Resident Return Visa.

Utu ā-tau | Salary
The mid point of the salary range is $ $68,104 and the full range (85%-120%) is $64,604 - $72,370. Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
