- Permanent Full time- 40 hours per week, shift between Monday - Saturday, with some flexibility of shifts between 0730 – 1730, with a shorter day if preferred on Saturday.

- Senior Pharmacist - Ideally at least three to five years of experience as a Pharmacist. Post-graduate education is desirable but not essential
- Pharmacist - Ideally one or more years of experience as a Pharmacist, working in a community or hospital pharmacy setting, preferably in a NZ environment
About the role

Join our dispensary supply and procurement team and undertake not only a key role in our base dispensary and supply service, Heaps of variety, fun and on-going learning, in fact never a dull or boring moment!
Day to day you will be working within our hospital pharmacy dispensary, will spend time in the procurement area, learning procurement and supply chain process, have input into organisational medication safety. Advance your clinical knowledge by undertaking clinical checking of medication charts from all over the hospital service, alongside an experienced clinical pharmacist.
Mentoring, coaching and supervision of technician and assistant positions will also be a key part of the role. You may also provide back up to our on-site community pharmacy and possible involvement in our clinical trial service.
These are full time permanent positions where you will work and 40 hour
Key responsibilities of the role:
- Dispensary pharmacist roles such as clinical checking of medication charts, final checking of medicines and medicine supply processes
- Involvement in procurement activities, providing pharmacist oversight and advice
- Mentoring, coaching and supervision of pharmacy technicians and assistants
- Key dispensary team liaison role with other pharmacists across the service

About our Team/Service
Providing pharmacy services to Waikato hospital, rural hospitals and tertiary advisory and support services to the Te Manawa Taki region, the Pharmacy Service is key to the effective operation of the district health service. From pharmaceutical supply, medicines safety and clinical services to provision of an outpatient pharmacy, comprehensive clinical trials service and a compounding suite, the pharmacy does it all. Pharmacy services that are consistently of a high standard are important to our team.
About you
Skills and experience you’ll need to be considered for the role:
- Full registration with Pharmacy Council of NZ, with a current Pharmacist Annual Practising Certificate (or to be gained within 3 months of supervised practise).
- Senior pharmacist role – ideally at least 3-5 years experience as a pharmacist. Post graduate education desirable but not essential.
- Pharmacist role - ideally 1+ years’ experience as a pharmacist, working as a pharmacist in a community or hospital pharmacy setting, preferably in a NZ environment.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to teach, mentor and supervise others.
