Where you’ll be working: Thames Hospital

The details: Permanent Full time – 40 hours per week

Salary details: Coverage by PSA Allied & Technical Collective + yearly merit salary increases + Voluntary Bonding Scheme allowance available for new graduates ($12k after tax p/year)


  • Work in a varied environment – provide service to inpatient wards + in-house programs

  • Support with education + advice to community based groups

  • Suitable for a new graduate, experienced pharmacist or senior pharmacist

  • Opportunity to spend some time at Waikato hospital + other rural locations


Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity

Based in beautiful, coastal Thames – come and be at the centre of the pharmacy service in a rural domain. Provide clinical pharmacy services to Thames Hospital + add value to committees relating to medicine usage. Newly qualified Pharmacists (2023) have an opportunity for the Voluntary Bonding Scheme payments of $11.5K after tax per year for your first 3 years.


Key responsibilities of the role:

  • Provide inpatient pharmacy service to wards

  • Assist + provide oversight in the development of rural pharmacy services

  • Opportunity for involvement with in-house programs such as pulmonary rehabilitation for patients with COPD

  • Grow your knowledge + provide wider support in the rural network

  • Registration with Pharmacy Council of NZ
  • Annual Practising Certificate
  • Seasoned pharmacists or newly qualified pharmacists considered
