Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is firmly grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is committed to building a health system that serves all New Zealanders.

About the Role

Are you ready to kick-start your pharmacy career in a dynamic hospital environment? We have two exciting 12-month fixed-term Pharmacy Intern positions available for 2026 at either Tauranga Hospital Pharmacy or Whakatāne Hospital Pharmacy.

Join our dedicated team and gain hands-on experience delivering high-quality pharmacy services across a variety of clinical areas. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills and work alongside experienced professionals.

About the Team

Our Pharmacy team has a wide range of experience and expertise and will be supporting you throughout your internship year. You will be exposed to a variety of clinical areas through rotations and shadowing to develop your core pharmacist skillset. Regular clinical case discussions, medicines information and pharmacist education sessions are an integrated part of our team's calendar. We also work closely with local community pharmacies to support community pharmacy experience.

The team is large enough to provide the diverse experience required yet small enough to provide individualised support during your internship year. About you

The minimum requirement for this position is the holding of, or near completion of, a Bachelor of Pharmacy. PSNZ Evolve training fees are paid.

Ensure you also complete your Te Whatu Ora Hospital Pharmacy Internship preferencing as part of the application process – this will be distributed to your university email addresses in early April.
