Portfolio Analyst, Enterprise Portfolio Management Office
- Contribute to portfolio management advice to strategic and operational governance forums
- Manage the provision of portfolio data analysis, insights, and reporting
- Provide guidance and support to delivery teams to enable compliance to data and information quality standards

Be part of the Enterprise Connections Division and provide enterprise level advice to the Ministry on Portfolio related practices and guide the ministry on Investment, Change, Business Improvement and global NZ inc connections.
Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
The Enterprise Connections Division that this role sits in provides enterprise-level advice and guidance to the Ministry on Investment, Change, Business improvement, and global NZ Inc. connections, to ensure strategic alignment with Ministry goals. The Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO) is one of three units within the Division, and provides assurance and advice across the Ministry’s investment portfolio.
As the Portfolio Analyst you will develop and maintain high quality portfolio data, develop portfolio reports, and undertake analysis to provide insights and assurance on the overall health of the portfolio.
Accountabilities will include:
- Management of the portfolio data-set, quality control, and reporting and analytics
- Provision of portfolio financial analysis and insights
- Develop and maintain standards to track portfolio and project KPIs

This is a 12 month fixed term opportunity. We will be appointing for this role in the salary range of $87,672 to $103,143 total remuneration, inclusive of our 3% KiwiSaver employer contribution, depending on your level of experience.

We’d like to hear from you if you are a:
- Fact Finder – you are experienced in collating and maintaining data and information, and providing evidential analysis and insights to a range of stakeholders collating and reviewing information and developing advice on compliance and next steps.
- Quality Advocate – you support your stakeholders to understand requirements and enable them to provide quality information into portfolio databases.
- Collaborator – you build successful relationships with your colleagues and work as part of team to solve issues and evolve ways of working
Ideally you will also have a good understanding of tikanga (Māori customs and protocols), with the ability to weave te ao Māori (the Māori worldview) into your work. If you are just starting on this journey that’s OK too – as long as you have a willingness to learn and a desire to develop your cultural capability.
