Join our dynamic team as the Principal Adviser Protective Security, where you'll provide protective security expertise to enable Te Pūtea Matua to achieve its strategic priorities, meet government mandated security requirements, and achieve a high level of capability maturity.
Te tūranga - The role
The Principal Adviser Protective Security is a subject matter expert with a deep understanding of all aspects of the NZ Government's Protective Security Requirements You will support the Manager Security Governance & Assurance and Director of Physical & Personnel Security to ensure Te Pūtea Matua has robust and functional physical and personnel security frameworks in accordance with the Government's Protective Security Requirements, and with capability, practices and procedures to effectively maintain and deliver that framework.
Please note that this is not an IT security role.
Ō pūkenga - About you
To be successful in one of these roles you'll have:
- A minimum 5 years' experience in a NZ government security role as a practitioner.
- A deep understanding of all aspects of the NZ Government's Protective Security Requirements framework.
- Proficient in performing risk, business impact and control assessments.
- Strong attention to detail and proven analytical skills to identify and analyse security risks and relate them to appropriate security controls.
- A credible and dependable subject matter expert accustomed to dealing with the NZ intelligence and security community.
- A strategic mindset and the ability to think holistically across a broad range of issues.
- A proven ability to develop and implement plans to promote strategic priorities and objectives.

The anticipated appointment range for this role is $148 116 to $ 163 707 (actual salary will be dependent on your skills and experience).
