Our Principal Advisors need to be outstanding:'
-Thought leaders that can provide strategic and operational advice at a senior level across the housing and urban development work programme;'
-Communicators that have a natural ability to build connect and strengthen high-trust relationships with partners, stakeholders and iwi/Māori; and
-Organisational leaders that build capability and mentoring across the organisation
It is a full-time permanent role, located in either Wellington or Auckland.
The salary range for this role is $141,632 - $173,105 + 3% Kiwisaver contribution.

About the role | Mō te tūnga'
This role is focused on progressing our housing and urban development priorities in Auckland and Te Tai Tokerau/Northland, with the opportunity to work across the Place-based Group. This requires working on multiple solutions to progress the Government's housing and urban development outcomes. The role is within the Delivery Group of HUD and involves working broadly across HUD, with government agencies, Auckland Council, housing providers, iwi partners and stakeholders. You will report to the Director - Place and work in a small team in a very collaborative environment within the Place-based Group; a highly motivated, values-driven team of people.

In addition to the above, we are looking for someone who:
-Has strong practical understanding of the housing and urban development system and the roles different parties play
-Is a great strategic thinker, quickly understands connections between multiple areas of work, excels at problem solving and finding pathways through complex systems to effect change
-Is politically savvy and understands the current government context, policy agenda and priorities in relation to housing and urban development;
-Is highly competent in evidence-based analysis, and bring together place-based information and insights, to inform strategy, policy and system-level insights and reporting, and to input into briefings, papers, responses, and the management of issues;
-Can demonstrate commitment to the Crown/Māori relationship and to support whanau, iwi and hapū to achieve their aspirations in a tangible way.
-Has expertise in housing, spatial and urban planning, infrastructure planning and/or policy.
