About the role
As the Principal Consultant, you will be essential in delivering quality health and safety consulting services, and will also help HSE Global clients embed Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles into their operations.
This exceptional role involves collaborating with clients at all levels, from daily operational health and safety risk management to shaping strategic plans for internal audits and ESG integration. You will manage and deliver risk assurance and advisory projects, including strategic risk reviews, internal audits, compliance checks, and services across procurement, safety, security, governance, and operations.
You will collaborate closely with senior executives, board members, and frontline workers, helping shape and deliver comprehensive safety solutions that drive organisational change.
The ideal candidate is a strong leader, has a commercial mindset, and is passionate about the integration of ESG principles in their overall approach to health and safety risk management. They can confidently articulate and advise boards and executives on how to operationalise ESG through clear and concise communication. Having project management experience is advantageous.

Skills and experience
We anticipate you will have a significant background in leadership Health and Safety, or senior consulting role within a high-risk industry (mining and resources, oil and gas, power utilities), along with proven management skills, with a focus on scope and budget. You will be able to confidently provide examples of your extensive ESG experience.
Your values will encompass - supporting partners, thinking outside the box, challenging leaders to shift from good to great, and always thinking sustainably. You will be passionate about safety and assisting organisations to improve their performance in this area, we expect you will have some great success stories to share from your experience.
You will be professional and have excellent communication skills and experience engaging with diverse levels of staff and the ability to respectfully challenge and influence the way organisations think, act and view success.
A relevant tertiary level HSE qualification is required. Having project management experience is highly advantageous.
