About the role
Reporting to the Site Manager/Lead, this leadership role is central to ensuring safe, efficient operations at the Hornby plant. You will oversee the production team, optimise manufacturing processes, and maintain high safety and environmental standards. This is a role for a hands-on leader with a passion for continuous improvement, team development, and operational excellence. You’ll also act as the primary backup to the Site Leader, driving results in line with company values.
  
Duties
  • Lead and mentor operators and technicians to drive team success.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and environmental regulations.
  • Develop and enhance operational systems, including JSERA’s and LOTO procedures.
  • Maintain operations and engineering EHS systems and ensure great site awareness.
  • Use CI methodologies to optimise production reliability and performance.
  • Manage quality assurance programs and maintain ISO certifications.  
Skills and experience
We anticipate you will have significant manufacturing experience, within a fast-paced environment and from a Production/Operational Leadership perspective.  You will need:  
  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Science, or Business.
  • Proven leadership experience in site operations management, preferably on fast paced, high-risk sites.
  • Excellent people leader, with strong communication skillset.
  • Strong understanding of safety, environmental, and quality systems in manufacturing.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to master plant-specific systems.
