Cardiac Sonographer - Professional Lead Sonography and Clinical Physiology

Join our dynamic cardiology and respiratory department offering a comprehensive suite of services including Diagnostic Coronary Angiography, Echocardiography (Adult and Paeds), Holter monitoring, Respiratory diagnostics, and more.

We prioritise your growth and development, featuring up to 0.4 FTE dedicated non-clinical time to develop the workforce, enhancing quality assurance frameworks, and refining SOPs.

As a key member of our team, you will lead and supervise trainee sonographers, spearhead peer review initiatives, and create professional development pathways for the entire team.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • work with the latest model GE: E95 Echo Machines and reporting software. These machines provide 3D and strain capability for both TTE and TOE
  • provide professional leadership to Cardiac Sonographers as well Cardiac and Respiratory Physiologists
  • ensure efficient service delivery and provide a patient focused service
  • maintain, identify and pursue opportunities for developing new knowledge and skills
  • strive to eliminate health inequalities and achieve health equity for the Taranaki population

Essential

  • Must be registered with Medical Radiation Technologists Board under Sonographer and have current APC
  • 4 years experience in a similar role
  • Formal training in Echocardiography, e.g. DMU (Cardiac, Part 2) or PGDCU (QUT) or (BSE) or equivalent.

Desired

  • Clinical Leadership experience
  • Evidenced of leadership training or post graduate study
  • Evidenced of service/quality improvement and or project management skills
