We have an exciting opportunity to provide academic leadership and mentoring in teaching and research in the discipline of Professional Practice and Design.
We are looking for a dynamic individual who will bring a research and scholarship record of sustained excellence and a recognised contribution to our Design Programme at a national and international level.
The role provides the opportunity to bring professional and academic experience and be part of a team dedicated to excellence in teaching, research and postgraduate supervision. You will maintain and develop original scholarship and research, as well as identifying links and opportunities for engagement with industry for the benefit of the University's Design Programme.

In addition to a PhD qualification in Design or a closely related field, you will have a passion for teaching, with experience in people management, particularly in an academic or professional services environment. You will bring your industry links in a field relevant to Design to develop, initiate, and implement programmes for the school.
Along with teaching, your well-defined programme of research will help to advance research capacities and develop strategic cross and inter-disciplinary research initiatives. You will have a record of academic leadership that includes mentorship, guidance, encouragement, and support for other academic staff in the pursuit of their academic objectives and the development of their professional careers.

Initially, the School of Design will sit within the Division of Engineering, Computing, and Science, which comprises the schools of Engineering, Computing and Mathematical Sciences, and Science. The schools in the Division offer quality academic programmes at undergraduate level, and a range of programmes from across both taught and research postgraduate. Our programmes are research-informed and delivered through high-quality academic staff catering for domestic and international students.
