The emotional high of a wedding, the overwhelming sense of joy from the birth of a child, the grief from the loss of a loved one or becoming a citizen of Aotearoa - these are life changing events when people are focused on what really matters for them. So having to engage with government to register a birth or a death, apply for a wedding licence or begin the path to citizenship should be a straightforward, easy experience.
We are looking for a Programme Coordinator to join our waka and support this important mahi. This is a fixed-term role to 30 June 2025. Because of the work we do, you need to have New Zealand Citizenship to be considered for this role.
Mōu mahi | Our Work
New Zealanders expect to be able to access government services seamlessly, irrespective of the specific agency providing the services. Te Ara Manaaki is a multi-year cabinet-approved programme responsible for transforming its system of service delivery for identity and life event services and products. Our work includes:
Passports and Citizenship
Our new customer centred management system is the basis for us to deliver easy to access, integrated, consistent services across multiple government agencies. We're now expanding service and product offerings such as helping families apply for their first passports with a single application.
Digital Identity
This work is establishing safe and secure ways for customers to share and use their identity data efficiently and effectively. It includes changes to RealMe that will be progressively released out to 2025.
Mōu | About You
- You'll have demonstrated agility in responding to changes in priorities
- You'll have an insightful and proactive approach to work
- You'll be quick to grasp new ideas and concepts
- You'll have good written and oral communication skills
- You'll have experience using a multitude of systems such as MS Office, Visio, and Azure
- You'll understand project and programme coordination and methodologies such as Prince2, MSP and SAFe Agile
Mō te tūnga | About the Role
As the Programme Coordinator you'll play a key role within the Design Team and across Te Ara Manaaki, providing consistent and dependable coordination services and support across some of the programme's key functional areas. Your organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to build meaningful relationships will be key components of this busy role.
- You'll support a range of tasks, including regular reporting, monitoring, and tracking work. You'll plan workshops and meetings, coordinate attendance, take notes, and manage document control using your project and programme methodology skills.
- You'll collaborate with other programme coordinators, product owners, business analysts, and technical specialists to ensure timelines and deliverables are on track, providing clear progress updates to key stakeholders.
- You'll be the first point of contact, delivering customer-centred service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly. Your initiative and proactive approach will ensure a positive experience for all stakeholders, fostering strong relationships and smooth communication.
- Your knowledge of project and programme methodologies such as Prince2, MSP, and SAFe Agile will ensure consistency across the programme, enhancing our ways of working.
