Mō te tūnga | About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Accountant in our Finance team at present. This role is an important one that provides advice to project managers and other stakeholders across the organisation. This position will focus on enabling our teams to make sound financial decisions, whilst creating reporting and forecasting on projects which you will support end to end.
Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu | What you will bring
Key requirements of the role include:
- Providing financial support and advice on cost to completion with project managers
- Ensuring project budgets are accurately recorded and phased in the Financial System
- Assisting in the production of finance reports on projects so that project teams can make informed decisions
- Assist with the development of systems that support capital planning and prioritisation processes
- Present financial findings to a range of internal and external stakeholders to enable understanding of overall project performance
- Contribute to the development of recommendations for Oranga Tamariki financial policies and procedures
To succeed, you will bring significant experience in accounting in a large complex organisation. You will have a well developed understanding of accounting principles and best practice preferably in the public sector. In addition we are looking for demonstrated experience in monitoring financial performance in a project environment. You will enjoy working with different stakeholders and assisting them to make important cost-efficient decisions.
