The Opportunity:
The purpose of the role is to provide PM and engineering expertise for maintenance projects of critical, nationally significant infrastructure assets. As part of an established team you will
utilise your project engineering and project management expertise to ensure all asset design and construction complies with relevant codes and standards. You will co-ordinate and manage a range of multidisciplinary consultants and contractors from inspection and verification organisations to coatings, electrical and controls contractors. The position is expected to pay in the range of $120K - $130 K for suitably experienced professionals.

Key responsibilities:

  • Developing and preparing business cases, from initial project feasibility and planning analysis
  • Prepare tender documents and manage the tender process
  • Prepare contract documentation, monitor and report on project financial and project engineering progress
  • Assist the Manager to prioritise new items in Asset register and include in the Maintenance Plan
  • Lead Engineering and Maintenance audits and reviews as required
  • Ensure compliance with internal HSE Management System and safe execution of all project engineering work
  • Liaise with and support internal operations team ensuring minimal disruption to operational activities

Your Skills:

  • Tertiary qualified in Mechanical or Process Engineering
  • Local industrial or process engineering experience working to AS / NZ standards and regulations
  • Experienced working in a highly regulated, hazardous environment
  • Demonstrate a strong focus and genuine interest in HSE leadership / management
  • Knowledge and ability to understand, interpret and translate engineering drawings and engineering codes and standards
  • Project Management and Engineering experience for capital projects involving large storage tanks for bulk liquid storage (e.g oil, gas, chemical, dairy, water)
  • Able to work at an independent level with minimal supervision
  • A strong continuous improvement mindset and aligned training such as Six Sigma, 5 S, Kaizen or similar
