Te Pae Hauora o Ruahine o Tararua MidCentral (MidCentral) is part of Te Whatu Ora, Health New Zealand and provides healthcare services to over 180,000 people across the Manawatū, Horowhenua and Tararua regions. With a large hospital campus in Palmerston North, it also provides key health care and support services to neighbouring communities.
The Opportunity
We are on the look out for an enthusiastic Radiation Therapist to be part of an exciting new future happening at Te Pae Hauora o Ruahine o Tararua / Midcentral and contribute as part of the team, as we shape and transform our services and models of care. This position will be a temporary role for 6 to 8 months.
The Regional Cancer Treatment Service (RCTS) is the non-surgical cancer treatment provider for the central North Island, covering a population of 580,000. All radiation treatment are currently located in Palmerston North however; plans are in development to locate new linacs closer to home for our patients in the Taranaki and Hawkes Bay regions. If you would like to be considered to work in one of these locations, this position is part of that pathway.
We have recently completed a replacement programme with the installation of four TrueBeam linacs with Mosaiq OIS. Pre-Treatment utilise a Siemens CT and RayStation TPS as integrated solutions. Identify SGRT is currently being implemented.
We have an established VMAT, IGRT and Stereotactic programs and a strong culture of continuous improvement and development of both staff and technology. We are a social department with great people to work with from all over New Zealand and the world.
Applicants for this role will have:
- Registration as a Radiation Therapist with the Medical Radiation Technologist Board (NZ) and hold a current practising certificate
- Promotes and integrates into practice effective communication, cultural competence evidence- based best practice models.
- As proactive in their own development and supports others in their professional growth
- Actively participates in service improvement initiatives, and promotes evidence-based practice.
