The details: Permanent, Full-time (80 hours per fortnight)



Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Breast Radiologist to join our Radiology department here at Waikato Hospital.


The Breast Care Centre provides diagnostic clinics and screening assessment clinics, delivered by a team of dedicated MITs, breast surgeons, breast nurses and clerical staff, with weekly MDM meetings to discuss patient management. There are also two mobile units providing breast screening services to the whole Waikato/ Midlands region.


In addition to breast imaging, you will be interpreting and reporting imaging studies including CT, Ultrasound, X-Ray and MRI. You will be reporting a broad mix of complex clinical cases. Your workload will also include general radiology and acute imaging.


You will participate in multidisciplinary meetings, teach registrars, and be involved with the continual development of high standards within the department.


Key responsibilities of the role:

  • Reporting Radiologic studies
  • Supervising and teaching registrars
  • Participation in oncology multidisciplinary meetings

Mōu | About you

  • Experience in Breast Reporting
  • Experience in performing breast biopsy’s and localization procedures x-ray and ultrasound guided
  • Accreditation with Breeastscreen Aoteaora or be willing to achieve accreditation with our support
  • Subspecialty fellowship or interest in breast imaging
