Service/Department: Radiology Department
Contract: Permanent, Full-time, 80 hours per fortnight (1.0 FTE)
About the role:
We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Radiology Clerical Officer to join our Radiology Department at Health New Zealand, located at Hastings Hospital. This is a pivotal role where you will be responsible for a variety of clerical and administrative tasks that ensure the smooth running of the Radiology Department. You will work closely with radiographers, medical staff, and other administrative professionals to manage patient information, appointments, and ensure a welcoming environment for all visitors.
In this full-time position, you will be required to work rostered shifts across weekdays, weekends, and public holidays, ensuring that the department is efficiently managed around the clock. Your role will involve a mix of front-of-house reception duties, managing incoming calls, and handling patient-related documentation, all while maintaining a high standard of service and confidentiality.

You will need to be comfortable working in a busy healthcare environment, handling multiple tasks, and working within various computer systems. We are looking for someone who can quickly adapt to changing priorities while maintaining a calm and professional demeanour.
Key skills and experience we are seeking include:
- Strong computer literacy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and experience working with healthcare systems such as ECA (patient management system) and RRIS (regional radiology information system).
- Previous healthcare or radiology experience: Understanding of the workflow in a hospital or radiology setting is highly desirable.
- Communication and customer service: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with patients, healthcare professionals, and team members. A customer-first mindset is essential for managing face-to-face and phone interactions.
- Administrative skills: Ability to manage scheduling, data entry, patient records, and general office administration efficiently and accurately.
