The role
The Regional Facilities Manager is responsible for leading, mentoring and directing a team of facilities professionals across the region to achieve corporate strategic and business objectives, regulatory compliance and high quality performance outcomes.
The role may require out of hours work and support, pending urgency and availability of contractors and, may also require short-term travel outside of the Wellington region.
Key responsibilities
- Manage and develop a high performing team, aligned to the core values of integrity, collaboration, excellence and a customer first attitude, through effective leadership, support and continual feedback.
- Drive and oversee the effective delivery of facilities services and operations across the region including building maintenance and repairs, environmental and sustainability programs, facilities utilisation and safety and, participate in capital/minor works projects, to achieve planning objectives, meet compliance standards and continually improve performance.
- Contribute to corporate facilities management strategic planning and work collaboratively to develop and implement a regional operation plan incorporating the ongoing maintenance of the facilities and supporting services delivery model at the regional level.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with other key senior stakeholders, acting as the primary touchpoint for infrastructure matters and the escalation point for urgent, complex or high impact operational and customer experience issues for facilities management across the region.
Who we're looking for
- At least five years' experience in a facilities or property / building management role.
- Proven experience leading and managing facilities and assets management planning, operations and services delivery across dispersed sites.
- Strong experience implementing facilities services delivery through combination of in-house and contracted services to provide seamless and high standards of customer experience.
- Proven experience in leading, supporting, mentoring and motivating high performance in a team.
- Experience in financial management and budgeting.
- Sound understanding and knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and best practice.
- Good working knowledge and understanding of core building systems and business processes.
Before you apply
Working within our unique environment means we have to ensure you're eligible for employment.
You must:
- Have been a New Zealand Citizen for at least 10 years
OR
Hold a current NZ Residency Class Visa and ideally have been a citizen of the UK, USA, Canada or Australia for at least 10 years
- Be eligible to obtain a Top Secret Special (TSS) security clearance
- Ordinarily, this means you'll have a 15 year checkable background in countries NZSIS Vetting can make meaningful and reliable checks.
