About the Role

Napier Adult Community Mental Health & Addiction Services is currently seeking a dedicated registered professional with both experience and a passion for assisting tangata whaiora facing mental health and addiction challenges.

This role is pivotal, involving the provision of care to adults in Napier who are most severely affected by mental illness and/or addiction.

 

About the Team/Service/ Location

Our service is committed to solidifying and building upon advancements in resilience and recovery among those affected by conditions such as psychotic disorders, severe personality disorders, anxiety disorders, depression, alcohol and substance abuse issues, as well as co-existing conditions. This commitment extends to the culturally appropriate delivery of care to Maori and Pacific peoples

 

About you

If you are a registered healthcare professional with expertise in this domain, we invite you to join our team. We welcome inquiries from registered nurses, social workers, and occupational therapists.

Key qualifications for this role include,

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Exceptional assessment and intervention abilities are imperative for successful engagement with individuals and their families, fostering sustainable pathways to recovery.
  • Your genuine interest in contributing to the holistic development of mental health and addiction services is essential.
  • You must currently be registred with the professional body of New Zealand for your profession
  • Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
  • Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
