He Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the Role
Do you want to be part of a dynamic team with a focus on quality and Tangata Whaiora focused care?

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Registered Nurse who is committed to providing excellence in Mental Health nursing and is willing to share their knowledge and skills with their nursing colleagues. 

Working in partnership with the Mental health education and leadership team, you will be supporting the delivery of relevant assessment and education coaching plans aligned to individuals and the needs of the Mental Health and Addiction service with a priority to provide support for new graduates.  You will use your coaching skills to support and develop clinical decision making and improved Tangata Whaiora safety in real time.

This is a full-time position, working fixed-term for 18 months.

He Kōrero mōu - About You

Our ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills to be able to focus on ongoing clinical education and training of our teams.

To be successful in this role you will have:

• A minimum of 3 years of recent experience in mental health and addiction services in acute and community settings
• Previous experience in coaching, precepting or mentoring staff
• Relevant post graduate education and engagement with PDRP, preferably at expert level or working towards is required
• Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
• Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Toi Ora Systems of Care, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
