Temporary, 12-month position

Te Uru Mātai Matengau – Cancer Screening, Treatment and Support

 

Te Uru Mātai Matengau Directorate has an exciting new opportunity for a 12-month, temporary registered nurse position in the Haematology service.

 

The Registered Nurse - Haematology position will provide everyday support for clinical advice and nursing care to people with haematological disorders in conjunction with the haematology senior nursing team.

 

We invite nurses who are passionate about cancer nursing and can demonstrate patient focused nursing care and support to apply. You will be able to work in partnership with patients and their families/whānau affected by cancer/illness to address the physical, emotional, spiritual and social needs associated with their diagnosis. You will demonstrate an understanding of addressing inequities for Māori within the cancer service.

 

Essential Requirements

  • Current New Zealand Annual Practicing Certificate
  • Competent or Proficient Level (Level 3) Professional Development Recognition Programme Portfolio PDRP
  • CVAD certification
  • Portacath certification
  • Venepuncture certification

 

Knowledge and experience of the management of people with malignant and non-malignant blood and clotting disorders is desired but not essential.

Part time hours will be considered if this can meet the needs of the service.
