About the Team
At ICAMHS we provide specialist mental health services for infants, children and adolescents who are experiencing serious mental health challenges. We have a strong emphasis on family involvement in the young person’s recovery journey.
Services include:
- Crisis assessment and support
- Evidence-based mental health assessments and interventions using creative and pro-active approaches to engage tamariki, rangitahi and their whanau.
With service users/ tangata whaiora based both locally and rurally, this role also provides an exciting opportunity to work closely with the communities in which people live.

About you
Ideally you will be an experienced registered mental health professional (Allied Health or Nursing) with at least 3 years post registration experience, an up to date annual practicing certificate, a full drivers licence and experience in mental health assessment and discipline specific therapeutic interventions.
This role is open to someone who has worked with children, adolescents and their families in bi-cultural and/ or multi-cultural work practices.
You will be confident in completing mental health assessments and providing tangible outcomes. You will enjoy independent clinical work, while being adept at collaborating with the wider team/services.
The person best suited for this role will also have excellent clinical knowledge in working with children, adolescents and their family and understanding how to assess and manage complex needs. They will be confident and effective communicators and have strong organisational skills.
