Registered Nurse – 0.8 FTE Position Available

Location: Pukekohe Hospital, Te Whatu Ora-Counties Manukau, New Zealand

Be part of an exciting rehabilitation team at Pukekohe Hospital and contribute to the health and wellbeing of older adults in the Franklin area.

We are a 20 bed in-patient ward specialising in Assessment, Treatment & Rehabilitation (AT&R) within our Specialist Community Health Services dedicated to improving and maintaining the health of our elderly population, and we are looking for passionate and dedicated Registered Nurses to join our team.

As a member of our nursing team, you will work in a supportive, innovative environment that values teamwork, clinical excellence, and compassionate care. You will be part of an experienced interdisciplinary team, including Charge Nurses, Nurse Educators and other health professionals, all committed to delivering high-quality patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide patient and whanau focused care to older adults with sub-acute medical conditions requiring rehabilitation post-surgery and deconditioning post-acute illness including palliative care.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Work effectively within the team, demonstrating excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach.
  • Ensure a safe and supportive environment for patients and their families.
  • Continuously contribute to improving care delivery and patient outcomes.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • New Zealand Registered Nurse with a current Annual Practicing Certificate.
  • At least 1 year of post-registration experience in nursing (experience in Rehabilitation, General Medicine and Aged Care is advantageous).
  • A genuine passion for working with older adults and a commitment to providing exceptional care.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Can work a 24/7 roster ( AM, PM, N)
