About the Role
We are welcoming applications from competent and professional practitioners who will be providing caring, and best practice nursing services to our patients that puts them at the centre of everything we do.
The Registered Nurse will ideally have previous operating theatre experience
To be apt in providing optimum care to patients within the operating theatres and have critical thinking as a cornerstone of their practice.
To provide appropriate, clear and direct supervision and delegation to enrolled nurses and to healthcare assistants.
To perform appropriate delegated patient care tasks, working within the Theatre department.
To be available for rostered duties as dictated by Theatre.
To show accountability of risk management, equipment maintenance and patient safety.
To be an excellent communicator amongst theatre team and MDT collectively.

About the Team/Service/ Location
Te Whatu Ora Taranaki Operating Theatre Suite consists of six operating theatres, covering a wide range of specialities. Our staffing roster consists of a nine hour shift pattern, with on-call shifts Monday to Thursday, reverting to onsite morning, afternoon and night shift cover Friday to Sunday.

About you
Are you a qualified Nurse who is able to practise in New Zealand who would embrace an exciting opportunity in a beautiful province with fantastic work life balance?
Ideally candidates will have:
· Recent and extensive nursing experience in the operating theatre
· Proven communication skills amongst colleagues and MDT members
· A great team work ethic, and be willingness to be adaptable and flexible.
· Be self-motivated to progress, gain knowledge and improve clinical capability
· Show initiative, be apt at critical thinking in the theatre environment.
· Have a Current Annual Practising Certificate
· Be motivated to prioritise quality to your practice.
