About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for Variance Response Management nurses (2.8 FTE available) to support paediatric and neonatal patients between the hours of 1445-0715hrs, working eight hour PM and night shifts, seven days per week.

The Variance Response Management (VRM) nurse provides optimum care in areas of the hospital where the need for response is identified/required via the Hospital at Glance Screen (HAAG) or Duty Manager.

Variable areas for response and/or tasks are variable according to the needs of the hospital at any given time. After identified response is assessed and resolved, the VRM nurse will be re-directed according to need. The VRM nurse provides care, advice and support to patients, independently and in collaboration with other health professionals.

About you

We are looking for nurses to join our Integrated Operations Centre (IOC) team and bring with them experience and energy to support our busy Child and Maternal Health directorate. To deliver care to our youngest patients across the hospital campus including the Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit.

To do this you will need:

· At least 3 years New Zealand experience in acute neonatal and/or paediatric care

· A current PDRP (competent, proficient, or expert)

· Availability to work PM and night shifts on a rostered and rotating basis

· Have clinical skills that will enable competent variance response such as: cannulation assistance, procedure assistance, care of a patient on bubble CPAP
