About the role:
As a registered nurse, you'll use your nursing expertise and critical judgment to assess health needs, deliver care, and empower individuals to manage their well-being. Working both independently and collaboratively with fellow health professionals, you'll handle various nursing duties and oversee the work of enrolled nurses and healthcare assistants. Your role involves conducting thorough assessments to devise, implement, and evaluate personalized healthcare plans. You'll administer interventions based on solid scientific knowledge, professional skills, and clinical judgment.
You're responsible for ensuring that all health services you provide align with your education, meet legal standards, and adhere to professional guidelines. In your role as an outpatient cardiology registered nurse stationed in Villa 2, your main tasks include coordinating and scheduling cardiology clinics, arranging pre-assessments with patients and their families, and assisting with minor cardiac procedures like angiograms and pacing services.

Adhering to the Nursing Council of New Zealand's Code of Conduct and competencies, you'll demonstrate:
- Sound judgment and accountability for your actions, prioritizing patient safety, independence, and quality of life.
- Effective communication with patients and team members, ensuring clear documentation.
- Evaluation of care effectiveness and advocacy for nursing perspectives within the team.
- Provision of evidence-based health education and guidance to empower patients and families in making informed decisions.
- Accurate documentation and maintenance of privacy.
- Support for the professional development of colleagues, including new staff, graduates, and nursing students.
- Willingness to take on additional responsibilities as assigned, agreed upon with your manager.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development, maintaining competence through a Professional Development Recognition Programme (PDRP) portfolio within the first year of employment.
