Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity

We are seeking a proficient/expert Registered Nurses to join our Surgical Resource Team to work in the Urology outpatients department here at Te Whatu Ora-Waikato.

As a successful Registered nurse you will play a key role in patient care/flow through the Urology Outpatient Service.

Day to day the role includes but is not limited to:

  • Intravesical Gemcitabine/docetaxel bladder cancer treatments
  • Circumcision clinic
  • Equity Maori Clinic
  • Supporting the outpatient aspects of the clinic such as the TROC (the trial removal of clinics), urodynamic measurements.

This is a 0.8FTE permanent position where you will work primarily a Monday to Friday role working to cover the urology clinic hours.


Key responsibilities of the role:

  • Managing day to day patient flow of the urology clinic
  • Preparing patients pre and post Intravesical Gemcitabine/docetaxel bladder cancer treatments
  • Patient education

The role is part of the surgical & cardiology resources team based in the Urology Outpatient Department. You will be part of the urology nursing team to help support/manage the elective/outpatient urology patient attending the service.

We are able to offer you a supportive working team and ongoing educational support. This is a progressive service looking to develop the team and service


Mōu | About you

  • Registered Nurse minimum 3 years’ experience ideally within Urology
  • A current practicing certificate
  • Competed a Professional Development and Recognition Programme at proficient and/or above
  • A strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Adaptability, flexibility and agility
